I really like the quote from Carl Sagan - "We are the custodians of life's meaning"...

In reference to this, I am reminded of something that Buckminster Fuller wrote, or something I think he wrote, or at least I am attributing to him. Something like...

"Wouldn't it be a terrible thing if mankind failed as an experiment in Universe?" If we as a species don't make it through the treacherous times ahead and fail - so does the end of life's meaning.
