Privacy, safety and security -- we've talked a lot about these issues on this blog. They are right at the center of the ethical and legal questions raised by the prospect of molecular manufacturing.
The online news and opinion source Future Brief (to whom I contribute articles), is an initiative of the firm New Global. To gain an understanding of how Americans view privacy and safety in light of new technologies, Future Brief commissioned Zogby International, an opinion research firm, to conduct a standardized poll on these two questions:
What effect do you feel that emerging technologies are having upon personal privacy? What effect do you feel that emerging technologies are having upon your personal safety/security?
You can see the results here.
Other questions, submitted by Future Brief readers, also have been asked. Those results will be posted in the weeks ahead.
UPDATE: Poll results have been posted for a second set of questions.... and now a third set of questions.
