In case you haven't heard about it -- the Millennium Project is an important and visionary effort of the American Council for the United Nations University (ACUNU). It's an ongoing, globe-spanning, far-reaching attempt to describe in some detail various future scenarios. Risks and opportunities that may develop over the next 25-50 years are explored, and various proposed solutions are evaluated. The project is managed by Jerry Glenn (on the Board of Advisors for CRN) and Ted Gordon. Well worth your time to explore, and perhaps to participate.
If it's from the U.N. we shouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Let me guess, the solutions to these problems are to give the U.N. more $ and power? We should boot them offshore and withdraw from it, let the EU have them since they're so fond of them.
