Should individuals get so gosh-darned empowered as all that, maybe they'll be able to rebuild their own towns (or build towns that don't collapse), provide their own health care, clean up the land they themselves live on, and set up their own energy systems, rather than relying on busybodies of whatever scale. The structure of the game might change indeed.

The loss of a captive customer base would, of course, be bad for the "rescuing people" industry, and catastrophic for the "telling people what they should want" industry... but then nobody is entitled to a business model...
